Re: [WISPA] Tools for making LMR400 N connectors...
Oh man. The right tools makes this soo easy! Call Mark B at ec. 800.525.0173 (also cc'd on this message) Here's what you want. Propane torch Toenail clippers. Scissors type. LMR 400 stripper Deburring tool Razor knife LMR 400 crimper (don't need the fancy one that'll do LMR 600 or other sizes, just get the $40ish one) Don't waste time with any connectors other than the Times Microwave EZ ones. They have a captive center pin, very easy and fast to CORRECTLY assemble. Then view this video: http://www.timesmicrowave.com/connectors/video/ez_400_connectors_install.wmv More GREAT stuff here: http://www.timesmicrowave.com/resources/ Have fun. Re: [WISPA] Tools for making LMR400 N connectors...
One advice of caution, buy the stripper crimper from the same place that sells the connectors. Not all connectors are the same. for the record, I use electro com and buy my tools from them as well as the times ez's for 5 gig and 2 gig and the cheaper crimp /crimp aluminum connectors for 2 gig only. Re: [WISPA] Tools for making LMR400 N connectors...
Call your local LMR distributor and tell them to send you a LMR 400 strip tool, crimp tool and order yourself a bunch of those LMR 400 EZ connectors. Problem solved! Scriv Marlon K.
