I do advise makes your domain and www subdomain point to the website as well
as any subdomains with their www counterpart (ie, speed.inxwireless.com and
www.speed.inxwireless.com)

Drives me nuts, too.

How can it bother you that the PoE is actually a modem now? Don't you see
the modulation/demodulation?!

Can't you hear that noise...

Re: [WISPA] ccr.gov

2009-03-25 Thread Scott Reed
Actually the CPE is a modem, since a modem is a MOdulator/DEModulator.
It still modulates the digital data pulse to the analog radio signal and
demodulates the analog signal to digital data.

They are the same domain. You probably mean same IP address?

Actually though, according to the RFC's, this is not correct.
Traditionally, although not these days, www should point to the web site
but the domain name by itself should point to the mail server. The
reasons for this are largely moot now though. These days the average
sysadmin points both the domain and the www alias to the web site. But
his is not "right" from an RFC standpoint. I finally caved in myself
and did this too, since there are so many people out there who don't
realize that omitting the www may render a blank page.

Then again, most of those same people call any CPE a "modem" which
really makes me grind my teeth!

Those who were involved in the dialog were correct...the DNS was broken to
