[WISPA] recieve signal loss
I have been battling with one of my AP having receive signals 8-10 db less at the AP than the client. This is a RB532A with SR-2 and 16db 120 deg sector. I replaced the radio, pigtail, cable and the lightning arrestor. I finally pulled out the lightning arrestor and the signal are now mostly symmetrical up/down. I do not see this on my other AP's with the same style arrestor. Any ideas? I tried two different arrestors with the same result. Mark McElvy AccuBak Data Systems, Inc. WISPA Wants You! Re: [WISPA] recieve signal loss
The center pin on one of the connectors is shorter than it should be, is a possibility. I have seen this more than once. The pin is almost long enough to touch but not tightly. When there is an active signal, i.e., the radio, there must be enough capacitance coupling to broadcast, but the mV of the receive signal isn't enough to bridge the gap. At least that is my theory. Re: [WISPA] recieve signal loss
SR2's have a problem with loosing the receive (happens over time, don't know how to explain it). I have had this on multiple occasions (30+) and is the reason we do not use them any longer. XR2's are typically the same price and do not have this problem, and the R52H is just slightly lower in power than an SR2 and a lot cheaper.
