We are in the process. But have just begun. We will be looking at
Avaya and Shortel but I am also interested in Asterisk and Microsoft's
offering. Has anyone deployed either Asterisk or Microsoft?
Perhaps this thread should jump over to Netman. Is there a VOIP list?

Matt,
We have been running on a new VOIP implementation for 9
months now. I'd be happy to speak to you or anyone else on this list about
our experience/process. Feel free to reach out to me off-list by any method
below.

Yeah, that might be something to take into account for as well. Put a
little bit of budget into some additional power outlets around the pubic
lounge spots.

We find that having deployed wireless across the heart of our campuses,
students (now) tend to congregate where there are power outlets.

Ditto on that. You might get better info this way as well, as your
questionnaire will only give you responses from the sample that bother
to respond. The people I found helped out the most are tutors and
student workers in the various buildings around campus. They usually can

One thought would be to spend some time just walking your campus and see where
people naturally congregate.

We are wanting to expand our wireless footprint on campus but are limited
by budget constraints to do a campus wide wireless rollout. We currently have
129 APs in system and have determined that it would take another 160+ APs to
cover the majority of our administrative and academic areas.

1. Student Wireless Access Points are not allowed on campus
2. This policy is in the student handbook.
3. We have had several conversations about problematic WAPs
4. We intervene when they are problematic.

Well, I am actually interested in VoIP topic too. We are considering
Cisco and Avaya to replace Nortel CS1000.

Hi
We're looking into doing VOIP on our campus, and are trying to gather some
information. Given this list is a Higher Ed list, I thought I'd try here. I
am wondering if anyone on this list has already implemented VOIP on their
campus and are willing to talk briefly off-line from this list abo

Has anyone who automatically authenticates with Safeconnect via 802.1x seen
problems in 10.6.7 and possibly 10.6.5? What we are seeing is if someone
