You are correct in your belief that these units are simply bridges. Proxim does have a new controller, though, that will turn our AP-4000 installations into a switched wireless infrustructure, similar to Airespace/Aruba/Meru deployments. I have not looked at this, however it seems possible that this box may be able to do NAT for the clients.
