Actually... If you have the lastest radio mobile it is able to automatically pull down the SRTM3 files. What I did in one case where I didnt have the SRTM file, and I was going to be out in the field I downloaded the files by hand from this site.

It may sound stupid, but I use Delorm Topo 4 Plot your endpoints, draw a line and look at the trerrian profile. Add the antenna heights and you should have a real good idea if it will work or not. I played with Radio Mobile for a long time. It works, but Delorm is faster and eaiser for PtP
