If it's on the night stand, I'd wear an aluminum foil cap fastened to a good ground. 1 watt in the home? That just seems a little excessive to me. Actually, I think a cell phone to your ear, especially in rural areas where the RF has to be stepped up, would be more of a danger. Have you ever had your spectrum analyzer on and turned on the microwave oven? From anyplace in my house, the microwave shows more signal than even right next to the always on AP.
