That sounds like a good idea. But this is a really nice looking rig (only 51k miles) and I'd like to keep it that way. Marlon, I would go get a THULE roof rack. I have a set for my 96 Tahoe and they were previously used on a 98 Chevy Venture van. They have nice square rigid bars and the bracket method to attach uses a rubber wrap around strap system that works great. I have taken the same system and was able to quickly mount them on a Kia roof rack very quickly. They come in a nice black finish and don't detract from the vehicle looks. You can get the bars in various widths. They have all kinds of attachments for their system.
