[Wireshark-bugs] [Bug 12074] Packet list keeps scrolling back to selected packet while names are being resolved

My bad. The site i'm using to watch for version changes has altered their code,
so i have missed a lot of releases. Will try 2.4.0 soon.

The ETA for the 2.4.1, 2.2.9, and 2.0.15 releases is August 29:
https://wiki.wireshark.org/Development/Roadmap

However, given that this was backported to the 2.4 branch in g832f62fb65 and
the 2.2 branch in ga0b8629014 on June 19th, and that 2.4.0 and 2.2.8 were
released on July 19th and 18th respectively, the ETA for a release that
includes a fix for this bug is about three weeks ago.

Have you tried installing 2.4.0 or 2.2.8?

And I would put it on

https://wiki.wireshark.org/Lua

instead, as not all Lua scripts are dissectors.

No, that section of the Wireshark User's Guide doesn't explicitly note that
"plugins" includes Lua plugin dissectors (or other Lua plugins). It should
give more detail.

The developer documentation (I'd say "Developer's Guide", but we don't have *a*
document for developers, we have a whole bunch of different documents for
developers, scattered all over the place) should also discuss where to put
plugins, noting both the global and personal locations.

Reduce severity to normal. Blocker is used when the bug blocks further
development and/or testing work. See
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Bugzilla/Fields#Severity for guidelines.

In the meantime, you can post questions to the wireshark mailing lists, either
-dev or -users as appropriate. See: https://www.wireshark.org/lists/
