All good points but why not just have all your employees turn off their
computers and monitors each night or at a minimum sleep them. Save some
electricity which in turn, over the life cycle of the machine, will prevent
the production of a heap of greenhouse gas

I haven't written any back end TAFs yet as this client uses FMP over the net
to update their content. But you can do most of the job with the Search and
Add record builders.
My opinion is if it is Windows 98 or below, reboot daily.
If you are using ME, NT, 2000, then upgrade.
I only reboot my XP machines once a month or less.

That is very nice.
I host a site for the Aurora Youth League Sports www.ayl-co.com and could
really use that.
I assume there is a page for entering and updating the events on the
calendar.
Let me know if you get approval to share.
Thanks,

Think this came up once before. Worth a look through the archives.
The challenge is to find the string that represents an URL, which begins
with http:// and ends with the first space after that.
Tricky.

Thanks Robert!
Yeah, way off topic, but I'll chime in. All this booting stuff is no
longer relevant. It's the equivalent of an 'old wives tale'.
In the past there were major reasons for turning them off:

Thx. I tried several things and concluded that purgecache didn't agree
with the documentation. Glad that 5.5 now works, but I'm on v5.
I have been manually purging the entire cache whenever I made updates,
but was looking for an automated, selective purge to integrate with a

That is very cool.
A wonderful contribution that I'd like to get my hands on.

Sorry for the off-topic post...
I have always been under the assumption that it was harder on a
computer to reboot it every day then to leave it running and maybe
boot it weekly or monthly. Our company recently m
