We used to do this and were fine for several years but then msiexec.exe started
crashing on a number
of machines. I had to change everything to use the REINSTALLMODE method.

I've tried that and it fixes the problem but introduces another, that at the
end of the install it now asks me to reboot (when there is no need to)
