[WiX-users] Feature Selection Using ADLOCAL property in WiX

2010-06-07 Thread Bijay Agarwal
I have to create a package with three features FeatureA, FeatureB FeatureC.
The Feature selection is a RadioButtonGroup with selectable options being:
option 1 : FeatureA,FeatureB  FeatureC.
option 2 : FeatureB
option 3 : FeatureC

I have created a Custom Dialog:

Property Id=ADDLOCAL Value=ALL/

Dialog Id=myCustomizeDlg Width=370 Height=270
Title=[ProductName]

  Control Id=FEATURE_SELECTION Type=RadioButtonGroup X=16 Y=25
Width=350 Height=165 Property=ADDLOCAL Text=FEATURE SELECTION

RadioButtonGroup Property=ADDLOCAL

  RadioButton  X=18 Y=78 Width=330 Height=18 Value=ALL
Text=FeatureA

  /RadioButton

  RadioButton X=18 Y=98 Width=330 Height=18 Value=
FeatureB Text=FeatureB

  /RadioButton

  RadioButton X=18 Y=118 Width=330 Height=18 Value=
FeatureC Text=FeatureC

  /RadioButton
/RadioButtonGroup

  /Control

  Control Id=Next Type=PushButton X=236 Y=243 Width=56
Height=17 Text=amp;Next

  Publish Event=SpawnDialog
Value=WaitForCostingDlgCostComplete = 1/Publish

  /Control

  Control Id=Cancel Type=PushButton X=304 Y=243 Width=56
Height=17 Cancel=yes Text=Cancel
Publish Event=SpawnDialog Value=CancelDlg1/Publish
  /Control
  Control Id=Back Type=PushButton X=180 Y=243 Width=56
Height=17 Text=amp;Back
  /Control
  Control Id=BannerBitmap Type=Bitmap X=0 Y=0 Width=374
Height=44 TabSkip=no Text=WixUI_Bmp_Banner /
  Control Id=BannerLine Type=Line X=0 Y=44 Width=374
Height=0 /
  Control Id=BottomLine Type=Line X=0 Y=234 Width=374
Height=0 /
  Control Id=Description Type=Text X=25 Y=23 Width=280
Height=15 Transparent=yes NoPrefix=yes
TextSelect Application Installation Environment/Text
  /Control
  Control Id=Title Type=Text X=15 Y=6 Width=200 Height=15
Transparent=yes NoPrefix=yes
Text{\WixUI_Font_Title}Environment Selection/Text
  /Control
/Dialog

But it does not work properly. Please suggest me how to do this with the use of
the ADDLOCAL Property. Also note I'm very new to WiX and without much knowledge
of MSI thus might be missing something that might be easy solution to this..
Thanks
Agarwal

The MSI doc says you should not set ADDLOCAL to all. Use AddLocal in
Publish elements instead. Then check a verbose log to see which features
are being installed.
