Ubuntu (and Debian) still have the previous version, 0.95.5 in the 
official repositories.  (The most recent version, 0.95.6 has been 
packaged but is still pending a review by the Debian FTP masters because 
of an increase in versions of the included libraries.  One would hope 
that it will reach unstable, and thus vivid, at some point in the near 
future, although it's been pending since October-ish.)

If you'd like to try a newer version, there are snapshots of the git 
#next branch (the unstable development version) in my ppa.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:profzoom/wmaker
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install wmaker

I'm not sure if it will fix your issues, but I have no problem running 
this version in Utopic.

hi!

i'm struggling to login WindowMaker from Ubuntu, via lightdm, gdm,
kdm, xdm, etc. - it always logs out automatically after few seconds -
i also tried this on other machines, and all behave all the same... :S
 - i would ask if some users here in the mailing list are Ubuntu
users, specially if some tried recently on fresh-install ones

is the "official" wmaker from the repository with conflicting bugs,
and we have to install from some ppa instead? is there some kind of
configuration that we need to do?

btw, this situation persists since several Ubuntu versions ago

how can we help debugging this situation?
