Just gave the write up a quick once over & it looks cool, but as of about Oct/Nov last year - I know nothing about how Google works. I have officially removed my Google expert hat. Things have changed so drastically that almost everything that was previously best practice is now worst practice & I have not really had time to get back on the ball yet. Actually that's not quite true.... a lot of stuff still stands especially the things I mentioned in the presentation. Most of my angst comes from the fact that footer links we put on a lot of the sites we build (see http://www.capitalpartners.com.au/ - "Website Design Gruden") have resulted in us being completely dropped from the SERPs for the exact keywords that we have spent the last few years targeting..... All I can put this down to is a concerted effort to drive people in the target market into buying AdWords. A sudden jump in AdWord sales will do wonders for Google's IPO later this year. I mean Bob Brozman's web site comes up way before us on a search for "website design sydney australia". The guy is a genius but he is an American guitarist not an Australian web developer. All I can say now is "content, content, quality content..." & we have none. We build sites, we don't write essays.
