Re: [WSG] Help

Marvin,

I'd try it on a webserver to make sure it's not something to do with wamp,
IIS, or local permissions etc..

regards,

Mike

[WSG] Century Gothic for web

2011-12-11 Thread Lara Atechian
Hi,

I am working on re-designing a website, and will be using Century Gothic
for headings. My question is: Is it ok to use Century Gothic or I have to
buy some sort of license that allows using on the web.

I checked many websites, there is nothing certain that says buy a licence
or it's a free generic font.

Thanks,
Lara

Re: [WSG] Help

2011-12-11 Thread Doug Burt

Marvin,
It looks like you screwed on your database permissions when setting up the
sql request, or you haven't used the right database info, username or
password on your script to access it with the sql request. Have a good look
over it and doublecheck all your information...

Cheers,
Doug

Re: [WSG] Century Gothic for web

2011-12-11 Thread Steven Tan
hi Lara,

Century Gothic is not a free font: http://www.identifont.com/show?1N2

My suggestion is to find a similar font type to Century Gothic in Google Web
Font (open source fonts) and embed the font from there:
http://www.google.com/webfonts

cheers,
steven

Re: [WSG] Century Gothic for web

2011-12-11 Thread Doug Burt
Hi Lara,

Would depend where you got your Century Gothic font to begin with, usually they
(the font foundry you got it from originally (it looks like the font was
originally made and offered for sale by Monotype Imaging)) have permissions
right up front on what usage is permissable. At this time the font is now 5
years old and being offered free for web use from what I could find out for
you, but double checking can never hurt.

Cheers,
Doug Burt

Hi Again Lara,

Sorry about my first post, I should have included this from Monotype Imaging,
the owner's of Century Gothic, it's their free-online usage link for signing up
to use Century Gothic for free on the web.
