RE: [WSG] web standards training course/events in Sydney next year?

2005-11-22 Thread Miles Burke

Someone once told me that New Zealand was a country, and not a state of
Australia. I didn't believe them - I mean, we made Lord of the Rings and
Russell Crowe, didn't we? :)

Cheers,

Miles.

Webstock in May 2006 is hosted at a capital city--Wellington--and you
guys probably treat NZ as a state :P

Its going to be absolutely amazing -- Check out

Anybody know of any good training courses or events that are
 being held
in Sydney (or the other capital cities) next year on web
 standards/best
practice web design/usability etc (other than WE06 and the
 regular wsg
 meetings?)

RE: [WSG] WE05 - who's going?

2005-09-26 Thread Miles Burke

Wow, and I thought five of us coming from Perth was keen...Japan is even
further afield. :)

Be good to meet you all - should we have a secret handshake? :)

I guess the drinks on Thursday night will uncover us all. Maybe someone can
shout out and rustle everyone to put their hand up if they are 'on list'?

Cheers

Miles.

RE: [WSG] New Site Design (Hopkins Programming)

2005-03-03 Thread Miles Burke

Wearing my design hat (eg: not looking at the code at all) I prefer the second
one. Personally, I'd remove the 'Last Updated:' part of the footer. Why tell
people when it hasn't been updated for weeks or months?

Cheers,

Miles.

I'm thinking about redesigning my website.

Which of these two designs do you like better?

 New: http://69.174.31.29:100/newsite/

 Thanks for your opinions!

[WSG] Election campaign websites

2005-01-24 Thread Miles Burke

It is interesting to note that for us lot in Western Australia, that none of
the political party campaign websites for the state election next month
actually meet html or css validation.

[WSG] Review of website please

2005-01-20 Thread Miles Burke

Hi CSS gurus, :)

We've just launched our new website, having had a quick CSS learning curve over
the last few months, and would love opinions/feedback/criticism of it.
Everything is game - let me know it all, no matter how bad. :)

Please have a gander at http://www.bam.com.au

On another topic, the WA web industry association has just released its 'What
to ask your prospective web designer/developer' document. I'm hoping some of
you may have a use for it to hand to prospective clients, or indeed have some
feedback on that as well.

It's URL is http://www.port80.asn.au/docs/Port80_whattoask.pdf

Cheers thanks in advance,

Miles.
