[WSG] Layout Check Please (Linux / Mac)
Greetings all, I was hoping some of you fine Linux / Mac users could test this layout to make sure no blowups happen. I've done a comparison with Firefox2 and Opera 9.2 under Linux and it's rendering fine. From my experience, I've never seen a cross-platform browser render differently under various platforms, it's always been consistent. The only exception is font rendering, which is platform specific. In future, you should consider installing a virtual machine with a flavour of Linux so you can easily test your websites yourself, rather than rely on someone elses perception. At any rate, good job :) Cheers, Tate Johnson *** List Guidelines: http://webstandardsgroup.org/mail/guidelines.cfm Unsubscribe: http://webstandardsgroup.org/join/unsubscribe.cfm Help: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ***

I like the style and website, It matches the hotel but my only grip would be that the links (besides the menu) does not have any hover attributes apart from that top job :) On 4/17/07, Joseph R. B. Re: [WSG] Layout Check Please (Linux / Mac)
Hi Joseph I have had a look at your site through my Mac OS X 10.4.9 browsers. + Opera 9.01 = looks fine. + Safari 2.0.4 = looks fine. + Firefox 1.5.0.6 = looks fine. + Internet Explorer 5.2.3 = Not good: Header imagery doesn't appear, including top navigation and white slogan on blue text. List text (Rooms and Rates, etc) runs off the right hand side of the page. Then again, IE 5.2 on the Mac is very old and has always been very problematic. I note that while your HTML validates, your CSS doesn't validate. This link might give you direct access to the results. http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?uri=http%3A%2F% 2Fhomestead.foodzoomer.com% 2Freservationswarning=1profile=css21usermedium=all If not, try using a CSS validator like this one. http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/ Nice use of the vCard div, by the way. Your HTML code looks very clean. -- Jonathan O'Donnell mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://purl.nla.gov.au/net/jod +61 4 2575 5829 On 17/04/2007, at 6:28 AM, Joseph R. B. Re: [WSG] Layout Check Please
My only little comment is to either make the font size fo the nav bar a little bigger or to bold the text. The size of the font seems kind of hard to read verses the background. On 12/2/05, Patrick Haney [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Guys, I'm on a PC with Firefox 1.5, IE 6.0 and Opera 8.5.
