I was wondering if anyone has done extensive testing of the support for
quotes, nested quotes, and pseudoselectors?

Informally, I've tested using nested blockquotes and q-tagged quotes on a
limited number of browsers. From my experiments, the only browser that gets
the increments right for nested quotes, is Opera 7.54. I tested on IE 6, NN
7.2, Opera 7.54 and Firefox 1.0PR.

IE doesn't support the q-before, etc. pseudoselectors at all, so it doesn't
even render the quotes.

The other browsers don't properly render the right type of quote (single '
versus double ") in when nesting a quote within another quote, all rendering
them with normal double ( " ) quotes. Opera was the only one that was
capable of rendering nested quotes correctly.

I've only done limited testing on this. I'm trying to make use of quotes and
pseudoselectors for the browsers that support them and use some Javascript
to render the quotes properly in IE.

I know I should hardcode the quotes in place, but I
just...can't...let...go... :-)

Has anyone else experimented with this in any detail? I'd be interested in
the results.
