It seemed OK to me, although I'm not a screen reader user, just
experimenting. I was mainly interested in testing what happened when
there were nested fieldsets, and it seems that only the innermost
fieldset's legend is spoken before a form control's label, so nested
fieldsets aren't a problem for this one screen reader, at least.
I will say this: My goodness it's fast reading. I had a hard time with
comprehension due to the speed, but maybe that's adjustable and you
turned
it up a bit (?). Plus I'm not practiced in this sort of browsing.
It is adjustable, but I haven't changed any of the default settings
except for switching to the supposedly English accent from the
default (American) one. From what I've been told, many experienced
screen reader users set the voice much faster than the default - it's
about the only setting people do change.
Note that, in forms mode, I was just tabbing to the next field once
the voice had said its piece, and edited out a couple of pauses where
I got distracted by something on the telly :-)
Thanks for going through the trouble of making these. Curious, will
these be
permanently available? If not, may I get copies of the recordings
from you
to post (with credit given of course). I'll post the links right on
that
page for the world to hear.
I've got no plans to remove them, and will hopefully find time over
the weekend to set up a page on my site linking to them. You're
welcome to download them and host copies on your own site, as is
anybody else who wants to. Anything to save my bandwidth :-)

Mike,
I've taken the liberty of accessing your demo page using Jaws 8 with
MSIE 6, first in virtual cursor mode, then in forms mode. I've then
edited the audio down into two MP3 files, one for each mode. Are you
OK with me posting these online, as I think they could be useful for
people wanting to learn how screen readers handle forms (well, one
screen reader)?
If that's OK with you I'll post the links to the WSG list; apart from
anything else I think many people will be rather surprised by the way
the <legend> element is handled in forms mode :-)
