G'day PS. I got the transparency working after I gave the container a size. Still haven't figured out the 1pixel space. Change the image alignment from top to bottom img { vertical-align: bottom; border: 0; } Incidentally, the html doesn't validate, partly because you have no alt attributes on a number of images. If they don't need alt text (i.e. they are just for visual effect), consider putting them in the css as background images.
