It was the first time I heard about the .htc behaviour. I looked for it on google and found a couple of pages with demos but on my computer, it seems to work only with I.E.6. With IE5.5 the images just disappear Is that correct? Im using Ryan Parmans customized browsers files

Sadly this doesn't work in Opera 8. Why should it? For people who use Opera ;) What I meant was, the page in question doesn't work in Opera 8. They probably need to tweak their browser-sniffing or something, as, as you say, Opera doesn't need anything special to display alpha-channel
