Re: [WSG] Safe Web colors
Greetings Useing a safe web colors, is it a standard? is it a Must? No, as most users have full high color resolutions. But if your website is primarily visiited by computers that cant reach high color levels, then yeah. but otherwise its accessability shoshing over with design issues. the web safe color scheme is a good idea, pratical in some situations. I've never bothered with it. I'd say it's a myth, unless you are going to limit yourself to 22 colors for some reason. This article: http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/00/37/index2a.html was written four years ago and still worth reading. Sure raise of PDAs may rise some questions too, but... Jad Madi wrote: Useing a safe web colors, is it a standard? is it a Must? I would say you shouldn't ignore the issue, but you don't need to limit yourself either. If a site doesn't look as good under the limited spectrum, so what. If, however, it looks hideous, then maybe it's worth making adjustments. * The discussion list for http://webstandardsgroup.org/ See http://webstandardsgroup.org/mail/guidelines.cfm for some hints on posting to the list getting help *
