Sounds like a memory leak.
If you can run task manger and monitor the memory tab to see which program
continues to consume memory, it may help to identify the cause.

It happens to me frequently. I leave the app running all the time (not using
it but it sits there).
Switching CODECs works all the time but curiously I never have to do this
for MSHV or JTDX. They keep the CODEC.
What happens is the sound comes out of my radio speaker until I switch it
back to
I've had this issue in the past (not currently happening) and switching

Instead of re-starting
Laurie & Uwe,
As a ham who operates from several locations using the same call sign but
different grid squares (FN33 & DM04), it often happens that other ops will be
misdirected by JTAlert, leading them to believe they have contacted Vermont
(FN33) when they have responded to my call clearly

Instead of re-starting the application, have you tried just going to the
Audio tab, then de-selecting and then re-selecting the USB CODECS?

I have had the same issue with FT-4/8. I leave my WSJT running and freq town

Twice now I've had WSJT and QMAP (via SDRconsole) running for several hours
without doing anything, and then when I tried to click on station in Active
Stations window nothing happened. Relaunched all programmes and worked fine.
Seems it didn't like running in idle for a long time.
