That's what WSPR is for. There is a very well established worldwide network that can be found on nearly every band. Try it. You'll like it. I never understood why PropNet suddenly went dark one day without notice. Perhaps bringing back PropNet would be the best overall option. I was an avid

I agree. I believe a lockout feature could be abused. Case in point wasduring the heyday of packet radio (I call it the Packet Radio Wars). If you did not march to 'their' drum you were locked out of all nodes, BBS'gateways, etc. Such a thing should be banned. If it is there, someonewill use it

CWID is not required in the USA. Why waste the bandwidth? It will just be more background noise in our ever crowded sliver of digital frequencies. Best regards, Gary, K7EK --- On Monday, October 21, 2019, 09:35:52 PM EDT, David A. Behar wrote: Hi friends, Just to clarify, the issue

I see my transmit frequency being ambushed quite regularly. My solution is to just stay there. Eventually it should dawn upon them.  Also those that call my station with a signal report on their first transmission (no full callup and no grid). I ignore folks like that. If they don't start the

Hasan, We are talking about RX audio. I use a SignaLink USB, not the on board sound system, and am experiencing the problem. Interestingly, when I execute another program calledMARS-ALE, it somehow forces the RX audio to 0.0 db. Not sure how N2CKH did that but perhapsit would be a possibility

[wsjt-devel] FT4: Initial observation

I have discovered that the receive audio level in FT4 is much moresensitive than the other modes. I had initially kept my receiveraudio at the same level as I had been using for FT8 but quicklydiscovered that it was too high, causing many cycles of no decode.Dropping the receive audio down to

It's already happening. Just a few minutes ago on the current 40m FT4 frequency I am hearing multipleattempts at jamming and harassment. People tuning up and swishing their VFO's, sending unidentifiedCW messages such as "Go away", etc. They have to be very optimistic thinking that (m)any of

Jim, That has nothing to do with RC3. It is from someone sending a link for image exchange in a manner similar to EasyPal in the latter days (Hybrid).  They are simply sending a server link for a picture which will be opened in everyone's software just as in EasyPal. There are two or more

The Baker Island DXpedition has brought out the very worst:  Stations calling blind for hours when KH7Z is not even on FT8, incessant calling below 1000 hz, calling the wrong call sign (KH7V), calling in the wrong time slot, etc. One would think that it would be reasonable to at least skim the
