I reported something related when station report with contest mode reply,
if your are not in contest mode WSJTX suggest you (popup window) to setup
contest mode. However, if you are not interested in operating contest mode
at that moment (just making QSO's) it disrupts the calling station

I was at normal FT4 CQ play, had several qsos, then M0IEP return with EU
contest mode and while I change to contest mode on the run, occasion ended
with crash. *.wav suppose to be available if needed.
