Re: [wsjt-devel] How often new version WSJT-X ?
Greg, Sorry, was not clear in my question. You have a PPA for Linux. The radio we are testing is called Hermes Lite. At this time, PowerSDR runs better for me than Linux versions. Is there a binary of the dev version that is kept in sync with what is available on Linux? If not, I will have to built it, I guess. Just trying to save some time... The source code is in ../branches/wsjtx on Sourceforge If your using JTSDK for Windows, the following would apply, assuming a Release target build: Source Dir...: C:\JTSDK\src\wsjtx Build Dir: C:\JTSDK\wsjtx\build\Release Install Dir..: C:\JTSDK\wsjtx\install\Release Those are the build script default locations. You can of course, change the build and install directories by setting the values manually or with the cmake-gui. It's up to you to decide which you prefer. 73's Greg, KI7MT On 06/09/2015 02:24 PM, John Williams wrote: Where is 1.6.0 dev version for Windows kept? Re: [wsjt-devel] WSPR for Windows - where to fetch? (as official is outdated)
Andreas, There is a later WSPR 4 version that I have used successfully. It is a beta, I believe, but works just fine in my situation on XP using PowerSDR and CAT control (rig TS-2000 is what I used). Needed VAC and VspMgr for virtual serial. Maybe someone on the list knows were it resides, I had a hard time finding it and seem to have lost where I got it. That same PPA of yours also worked fine for me for Ubuntu 14.04 aka trusty 64 bit. I'm about to give a WSPR-presentation at a local ham club this coming Wednesday and intend to recommend your PPA. But: What should I recommend to Windows would-be WSPR users? From where should those install WSPR? On your remark on the official http://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/K1JT/wspr.html : The posted version wspr_2.11r2263_i386.deb is a bit dated and should probably be updated. I agree. It dates back to November 22, 2010. It is i386 only, no AMD64 sibling. In an experiment today, I found myself unable to get it installed, short of uniformely pushing down Python and every software using Python from the present 64 bit to 32 bit. So, if someone has the ability and energy to upgrade the version and the page pointing to it, this lowly WSPR promoter would applaud! You can either build it with JTSDK-Nix, or, the easier way, install WSPR via PPA which I will explain below. Install Via PPA, which is the latest in SVN r4889: * At your desktop, open a terminal: Ctrl+Alt+T * Add the PPA..: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ki7mt/wspr * Accept the PGP Key * Update...: sudo apt-get update * Install..: sudo apt-get install wspr That's it. To Run WSPR: * Go to Menu Sound Audio * Double Click on WSPR or * From the command line, open a terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) * At the prompt, type: wspr Edit your settings, making sure you save them: File Save User Parameters Note: When running from the command line, you may see some errors like: ALSA lib pcm.c:2239:(snd_pcm_open_noupdate) Unknown PCM cards.pcm.rear bt_audio_service_open: connect() failed: They can be ignored. The warnings can be fully eliminated, but its not really necessary. This is not a WSPR issue. They are almost always present, we just don't see them as rarely do apps run from the terminal. On my Mint 17.1 install, I use the Navigator interface, so I set the USB CODECS to be the default sound device in the sound panel *before* running any digital apps(WSPR, WSJT, WSJTX, FLDIGI etc). This saves allot of frustration with ALSA and PAV controls issues. 73's Greg, KI7MT On 04/11/2015 02:59 PM, Pino Zollo wrote: El 11/04/15 a las 08:49, wsjt-devel-requ...@lists.sourceforge.net escribió: Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 Hi Pino, What distribution and version are you using? Re: [wsjt-devel] No decode on strong JT9 signal
Hello, Running Xubuntu 14.04 64bit using wsjtx_1.4.0-rc2_amd64.deb. Trying to use CAT net rigctl to QtRadio (localhost:19090). Get a consistent error of Hamlib Error: communication timed out while getting split TX vfo. Buttons for split operation seem to have no effect. Get same error for none, rig and fake it. Also tried none on Mode and same failure. Are there later fixes for this in the current svn source? Should I build the latest source level to correct? Does the RC version offer any debug logging of ptt commands? If so, where? Also, I have a hacked version of WSPR 4.0 that supports net rigctl to QtRadio. Is there any interest in using my diffs to add support? If so, will post... 73's John - AC9HY On 2/18/2015 11:42 AM, Joe Taylor wrote: Hi Mike, Thanks for posting those troublesome wav files. As it happens, I have been busy looking at a number of similar examples of problematic files. More or less from the beginning, the JT9 decoder has failed without obvious good reason something like 1% of the time... and I'd like to understand why. Over the past several days I've been playing with an independent, stand-alone JT9 decoder. It goes through many of the same steps as the decoder in WSJT-X, but it organizes them in a rather different way. Here are the decoded results of your three files: 1336 -4 0.1 3215 @ CQ AE5ZZ EM34 1338 -6 0.1 3214 @ W9MDB AE5ZZ -18 1340 -6 0.1 3215 @ W9MDB AE5ZZ -15 So YES, your example files are all decodable. Now I need to see whether I can move capabilities of the test program back into WSJT-X without destroying its snappy performance. -- 73, Joe, K1JT On 2/18/2015 9:26 AM, Michael Black wrote: Running 1.5 r4966 Here are three wav files: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0aj060t019t7hsf/150218_1336.wav?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/64b84q7ba3zmxwz/150218_1338.wav?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/5r3ppfe86u2lodu/150218_1340.wav?dl=0 1336 is the initial JT9 decode that I replied to for AE5ZZ at -4dB 1338 is the response.but it doesn't decode. 1340 one is the next response.but it doesn't decode either. I tried these files on another computer with the same result So either he lost time sync or the decode failed for some other reason. I was able to complete a QSO with him later.
