Hi all,
The docs say to set audio for 48Kbps, 16 bit depth.
If my sound card can sample at higher rates and bit depth (even floating
point) would there be any advantage to using higher setting rates? Or
possible disadvantages?

If it's not a hassle, could you change the code so that the splash screen
does not linger for several seconds before it can be dismissed? This
happens on jtsdk-built linux 1.7.0 rc1 r7021 when audio is misconfigured.

After reading about the recent rework of MSK144 I built 7139 and tried
monitoring on 6M. I was presented with 50276 (OOB) which made sense, and
40M 7076 which did not, as selections in the pull-down box. No other
frequencies were offered. I understand I could populate them manually. So

Even though I have it checked, I'm not seeing blank lines in Rx Freq window
as on some older releases, say 713x.
Haven't used it for a while, so just FYI not big deal for me.

So you're not using Greg's JTSDK for windows? Good idea to get it
installed if not.
Also, did you rebuild hamblib3 before doing the wsjtx build?
I'm building 7178 now and will report back later.

When invoking on-line help file the following error message is presented:
The ordinal 4684 could not be located in the dynamic link library
LIBEAY32.dll.
first noticed in build 7206. (see attached).
Dismissing the message and retying is successful.

While continuing to try various setup scenarios I can now reproduce that

When switching back and forth between MSk144 and JT65/9 the T/R period is
not preserved. e.g. reverts back to 5s on change to msk144 from JT65/9. In
this case last used T/R for MSK144 was 15s.
Is that the designed behavior if not using Config clone feature?

So, if I make a mistake when starting to CQ it will not change from jt65 to
jt9
if I'm above 2500 blue line?
sri must be getting senile, thot for sure I saw auto-change on CQ before.

When setting up to use split mode, VFOB is no longer updated to VFOA +1KHz.
Rather, it is set to VFOA frequency. This is without Monitor returns to
last Frequency checked. Is this a design change?
With Monitor returns checked, the last frequency used on *any* band is
used for transmit out of
1) r7187 cold start computer, rig, wsjtx
2) VHF features box checked, split checked, jt65/9 mode seletced
3) JT9 cursor set at 2800 offset, Monitor only
Rig goes into split, but both VFOs stay at 50.276. e.g rig does not offset
as expected on VFOB, stays at 50.276 during transmit or tune.

Hi Bill,
Was just testing Greg's updates to JTSDK and I noticed that "build-wsjtx
rinstall" (after building a new hamlib3) built r7985 for me. Should 7986
and later be available or does the message about "building from trunk" have
something to do with not getting the latest: e.g r7988 on this
wsjt itself or maybe wsjt-x, which is currently undergoing a lot of rework
regarding format of exchanges?

Just installed 1.8.0 rc2 on 3 different machines; XP (hamfest freebie

win10 pro (Asus Athlon64 dual core 2.7gbs/4GB ram) .
All three are decoding FT8 with no CAT or PTT quirks.
hats off to Joe, Bill and Greg.
