Hi Richard, that probably should be 174 codeword bits, I believe that's the correct term for the information carrying bits plus the parity bits. I have made a suitable change to the description. Hi all, Looking at Section 16.2.1 of the rc1 User Manual, it says in the first sentence that there are 75 information bits and 174 channel symbols. (Later in the paragraph it says there are 79 channel symbols.)
