those symptoms are consistent with no audio samples being delivered to
WSJT-X.

turn off optimizations.  I turned off the optimizations and I have not see

I have been seeing a run of similar lockups of the waterfall gui with 1.6.0
in the last 1.5 weeks. This has not been an issue previously.

I have had other lockup issues until a reinstall of 10, but those appear to
have been resolved.

Rig is ts590sg, nothing special on the install, 1 instance, vox.
