Oh, why did not you tell that earlier?! :)

Go to http://wiki.openqa.org/display/WTR/Development+Builds
There is a table with Watir gems. The first row, the first column (titled
Version) has text 1.5.1.1192. The third column (titled Download) has

There is ten spaces before Catalyst 6500, that is why ie.select_list(:name,

I thought this would work, but it does not.

ie.select_list(:name, productId).select( Catalyst 6500)

Fortunately, both of this work.

ie.select_list(:name, productId).select(/Catalyst 6500/)
ie.select_list(:name,

I am glad I could help. :)

I actually tried a slight variation of the above before posting which didn't

work:
= $ie.select_list(:name, productId).select('/Catalyst 6500/')

'/Catalyst 6500/' is a string and /Catalyst 6500/ is regular expression. Let
me know if you want to know more about the two but can not find good
information on line.

Just curious what code is 240.

I really do not know why Ruby sees space as \240. I did

ie.select_list(:name, productId).getAllContents

and it returned

= [--Select One--, ... \240\240\240\240\240\240\240\240\240\240Catalyst
6500]

so I tried

ie.select_list(:name,
productId).select(\240\240\240\240\240\240\240\240\240\240Catalyst 6500)

Let me know if you want to learn how you could do it yourself.

Sapna,

To find id of that link you have to know some other attribute of that link.
I will assume that you know text RE: Check Copy Request

This is how you can get href attribute of that link.

irb ie.link(:text, RE: Check Copy Request).href
=
file:///C:/AppsUIWeb/SelfService/MessageDetail.aspx?id=1303messageToUser=True

This will extract 1303.

irb m = /id=(1303)/.match(ie.link(:text, RE: Check Copy Request).href)
= #MatchData:0x2d147b8

irb m[1]
= 1303

I guess that you are referring to

include Watir

Actually, you do not have to type it when using Watir in irb (as my user
guide shows).

I did not think to learn them Ruby. There are good books about it. When they
see how easy it is to use Watir, they can learn Ruby if they want. If not,
they can think it is magic, as far as I am concerned.

I have tried to use it, but it did not work for me. As far as I am
concerned, it can be removed.

Re: [Wtr-general] How To Click On The 2nd Link With The Same Img Source....

2007-05-17 Thread Željko Filipin

Hi San,

Try this:

ie.image(:src = /pdf_small/i, :index = 1).click
ie.image(:src = /pdf_small/i, :index = 2).click
...

I guess that you know how to create a loop. If not, see
http://www.rubycentral.com/book/tut_expressions.html
There is section called Loops.

There is no need for global variable in

for $i in 1 .. 3

I suggest that you change it to

for i in 1 .. 3

Also, :index expects integer, not string. So,

:index = #{$i}

should be

:index = i

just a first draft. Please, be polite. It is just a few minutes old.
