tons of action here in Frankfurt. Due to field conditions, some fields were
moved and now all twelve pitches are on the central venue.
In women division, CUSB shout won their pool, FBBulous in 2nd. The other pool
had a final between the unbeaten Iceni and Warsaw Troubles. In one of the best
women's matches I have ever witnessed, Troubles were able to pull away to 12:10
after trading points to 10:10. But Iceni fought back to universe at 12:12. The
incredibly disciplined and solid Trouble offense then managed to get the upwind
point to impose a rare loss on Iceni. Thus, in the semis this afternoon at 3:30
will be CUSB-Iceni and Troubles - FABulous.
Mixed, similar situation with Reading beating Hässliche Erdferkel, but both
teams go to semis. Erdferkel will face Airborn, aka KRUT from NED; a team
consisting mainly of juniors that were cruising through their pool. Reading
will play SEe6 from SWE; also at 3:30pm.
In Men, quarters are underway right now. Bad Skid beat Salaspils relatively
quickly, as did Clapham over Iznogud. The closer matches are CUSB Bologna vs
Freespeed and Tchac vs FAB. Semis at 5:15pm.
Heavy rain this morning, wind at lunch time, but fine now. Forecast for
tomorrow is also good.
