Same here. KDE works but Gnome session fallback doesn't.
With Ubuntu 13.10...
*gnome-session-fallback *
has been replaced with:
*gnome-session-flashback*
Gnome Flashback is a session for Gnome 3 which was initially called Gnome
Fallback, and shipped as a stand-alone session in Debian and Ubuntu.
It provides a similar user experience to the Gnome
package: x2goclient
Although filed against x2goclient, the same error occurs with pyhoca-cli
The session fails to start and the logs contains the following messages:

Hi all,
Running x2go server on ubuntu (12.04), and my terminal is a mac running XQuartz
(with quartz-wm) and the Qt x2go client.
I used the Published apps rootless and spawn a few windows from the server.
Things run pretty smoothly and Im happy with the performance.
