Re: [X2Go-User] Usage question - multiple destination sessions?

2014-10-30 Thread Cohen, Neil
I have been unable to locate a package, or even instructions on how to
install the PyHoca-GUI program on the Mac.
Can someone give me a pointer to that? Or should I just wait for the
promised update to the regular mac client?

Thanks,

nbc

[please don't top-post]

I have x2go configured on a mac system and I use it to connect to
a remote Linux system. Works fine. However, I would like to be
able to open a second session on a different Linux system. Is
this possible? Right now, it appears that everything hangs when I
do that. I?m guessing there are ports that are being reused ?
probably for the display, but I don?t know anything about x2go
 configuration files?.

If this isn?t possible, is there some way to get multiple,
simultaneous access to different remote systems using x2go?

I have this same problem on Mac, also, since it absorbs the
workspace change keys (control + arrow on Mac, control+alt+arrow on
Ubuntu) it ruins it's usefulness even when it doesn't hang.

I believe PyHoca-GUI was built for having multiple connections to
several servers at once, and it should be available on the Mac by now,
too. Haven't really toyed around with it, though, so don't take my
word for it, but wait for its developer, Mike#1, to comment.

Also, I *hope* to see some improvements to the regular Mac client
materializing this weekend, though I can't promise anything (/me looks
at Ionic with hope and desperation).

It hasn't been ported so far. The python-x2go has been ported for a
commercial product, we have some sort of a patch in our bugtracker [1].

The Pyhoca-CLI command-line client is (with that python-x2go port)
easy to run on Mac, as well (but no official dmgs or so are available).

The PyHoca-GUI (based on wxPython) is much more trickier to port
because of interfering event loops in wx and gevent (used in Python
X2Go).

Greets,
Mike

2014-10-30 Thread Cohen, Neil
Thanks for the info. So to go back to my original question for this list -
what is the timeframe I should be looking at in order to manage multiple
sessions to different hosts from my mac client? Sounds like this has to
wait until the mac gui interface is fixedŠ

Oh it needs a bunch of stuff python and all you can install with xcode,
I screwed around with it back when I was running MacOS and it can be made to
work sort of but I've loaded Debian on my Mac now sorry can't be more
specific as it's been awhile.
