Hi-

The Xalan SQL extension is a fantastic tool for directly extracting database data to xml. Unfortunately, there seems to be a bug in Xalan that slightly cripples the SQL extension - see the bug listing at: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/XALANJ-1168#action_59329

Please help fix the bug by voting for it!

Why is this bug such a big deal? Because the bug makes it impossible to tell if rows are returned from the query used as the source for the SQL extension. For example, a simple "No rows were returned" message in the resulting XML is just not possible, or at least not possible w/o some really convoluted XSLT that I've not figured out yet.

I appreciate your help, discussion, or workaround suggestions.

Thanks,
Eric Everman

PS - I seem to have voted for the bug twice under two accounts. Sorry - this was an honest mistake, not an attempt to stuff the ballet.
