Since it looks like the get maptools script is no longer good, I would
just leave it out and put in the other files to get from the
repositories. I will try and do another update to my old howto in the
near future. (I am under the weather today).

The /scripts directory is under the xastir directory i.e.
~/src/xastir/scripts
In trying out what I typed into the e-mail I did see a couple of typos
on the file names I will have to clean up my previous e-mail and send it
in again.

As I do run Mepis I am making up a step by step list of how to do a full
compile of Xastir. It assumes a fresh Mepis install and will gop on to
the end. It will be fairly basic (No Gdal orGpsman or Ax25). I should
