With zoom=1344 it looks normal, if I zoom in there are some large
green blocks mainly south of Sequim using mapnik.geo. With
OpenStreetMaps.geo it all looks good.

The CVS archive has been updated to include code that will scale the
OSM bitmap images. This restores the default linear scaling used by
Xastir and 'fixes' the area zoom (no changes to area zoom were needed
and that part of the code has not been changed).
Support for binned zoom levels remains.

But Thank you for your work, this addition to XASTIR has made a huge
improvement to map handling for Australia (were online maps were
non-existent)
