I'm going to bypass the radio completely and just run direct TNC to TNC for
this test. One TNC being a TinyTrack 4 and the other a soundmodem instance
on my laptop.

Duh, I forgot about an easy test.
If you have a transmit capable station, change the frequency on both your
xastir radio and the test transmitter - that way you know the only way it could
get to -IS is via your xastir gate, since no other gates would be listening on
the test frequency.

Turn on igate logging (under file menu). The log file is in ~/.xastir/logs.

Thanks Matthieu! I'm pretty sure I know which menu you're talking about.
The Display Packet Data window and then select the "Mine Only" button.
Will give that a shot!

Hi,
Maybe can you transmit with a single APRS transmitter with low power
just near your Xastir station to be igated by yours and only yours ?
And with Xastir, you can monitor network data and only yours if needed.
But I can't tell you which menu because Xastir is in French here :)
"Examiner"
Interesting, and that makes sense that when I'm connected to a server none
of the local igates are reporting they saw my station either. Is there a
way to see whether Xastir is still sending the data? tcpdump for
instance? I assume the deduplication is happening at the server end.
On Fri, Sep
APRS-IS has deduplication at many levels. It may be simply that the packets you
expect to see are also gated by other stations and yours are dropped as
duplicates.

I've compiled and been running Xastir since last night. I'm able to receive
APRS data with my radio and have also connected to servers to receive net
feeds of APRS traffic. I tried changing my TNC settings to allow RF -> Inet
traffic Only but I'm not seeing my station reporting any stations that
