[Xastir] Any interest for custom Ubuntu Live CD

2009-03-31 Thread John Ronan
Hi, I was wondering if there would be any interest in a custom 8.04 LTS ubuntu live CD with xastir pre-built? I'm currently building a custom ubuntu CD for work related stuff, so it shouldn't take all that long to do another. I might just do it anyway for the practice. Cheers de John

I'd be interested. . . Primarily as a time saver, but I've been away from Linux for years - and now that I'm officially old (just retired), puzzles seem to take longer to solve. Larry N9JY On 3/31/09 4:22 AM, John Ronan jpron...@gmail.com wrote: Hi, I was wondering if there would be any

Fyi, there's already an Xubuntu 8.10 live CD available with Xastir pre-built - see http://www.xastir.org/wiki/index.php/Downloads. However, some would probably prefer the Gnome desktop vs. Xfce, so I think there would be interest in an Ubuntu version as well. In fact, I think it would be nice to

The answer is no !   You need an install CD or a network install setup. I prefer the network install myself. installation and removal of programs on Ubunto is so easy ! as well as system updates.   Message: 8 Date: Tue, 31 Mar 2009 10:15:53 -0500 From: Jason KG4WSV kg4...@gmail.com Subject: Re:

That's how I do it, and I use a bit of Windows software, GPS Utility (www.gpsu.co.uk) to generate the shape files. GPSU is designed primarily to manage waypoints/tracks for a GPS unit, but it imports and exports a lot of formats, one of which happens to be shapefiles. I had to write my dbfawk
