We're in code-freeze now, getting ready for a new STABLE release
within the next two weeks or so.
Please take a look at the language files in the xastir/config/
directory to see if any strings need translation. Use the language
files from the CVS HEAD version or the xastir199-2010-Sep-16.tgz

As I said, I just updated successfully for the first time just tonight. So
this will be the second time and it should go fine from here on out. Since
it took the 1.9.4.3 to 1.9.9 using the update-xastir file, I expect all is

Go have fun with those boys and thanks. I will run the update

I am somewhat new to APRS, and I am trying to setup and I-Gate using my MacBook
Pro. I have followed the directions on this page in order to install Xastir and
all dependencies: http://www.xastir.org/wiki/Macports. I installed OpenMotif,
and all but the db45 library, which gave me

I think the trick to using the binary is having all the dependencies
installed on the mac to begin with.
Don't know that for sure, but it seems to sure help.

Bob,
I tried using the binary version after trying the MacPorts route, which
consisted of installing the dependencies (except for lib db45), but still had
the same behavior of an immediate closure after trying to open Xastir. So in

case of OS X 10.6.4 (which is what I am running), having the

Macports installing db45- one must use an older version I believe. Macports
doesn't want to do it on 10.6.
