Hello Curt,
If you're going to try messaging through it, enable "Satellite Ack" mode, which means you won't be trying to send ACK's constantly.
From what I've seen, you need to enable this option if Xastir will send ACKs to digipeated APRS messages. With it off, Xastir WON'T send acks. Very confusing and I'd love to get some clarification here.
