I've been poking around howto/wiki/readme/archives etc trying to figure

I have xastir running via internet connect, however, I would like to
figure out a path so it would push packets to my Igate with a wide path
of 2-2 to make it over the mountain. Is there a way to do that?

I thought xastir was available for mac & MS as well as linux. Wrong??
If wrong, is there a MS client with xastir like capabilities? Friend
over the mountain would like to join in on the RF side with old school
tnc and USB GPS dongle.

I wanted to thank everyone for contribs to this question. The idea of
putting tnc on the air wasn't much help, but by gosh, the aprs Monday
night check-ins are growing and it's fun to see which came in via inet
help and which ones made it via RF.

Learned a lot over the last two evenings. First, I am adding this

My Xastir is connected to the Internet here, no radios. Is it possible to add

Very irritating. I can start it with sudo but not as user pi. Already
ran the setuid root thing.

Thanks Tom,

That did the trick Tom. Many thanks. I might be using it more on the
pi than my laptop. We'll see how it plays with maps. Probably have to
deal with dialout and that stuff too, but at least it runs without being

Hi Phil,
I run the Humboldt APRS net every Monday. I receive dozens of check-ins
each week.
Yes, xastir receives message very well. I even added a sound file that
