Hi Yuan,
We are an ISP (Deutsche Telekom) and have been using xCat for many
years. One of our vendors (IBM) recommended it once to provision nodes
to run their software. We are very pleased with it!
Now, we support using SLES12.3 xCAT management node to provision SLE15
diskful compute node.
PLEASE CHECK whether these directories are included in "exlist" of the osimage, which will excluded from the compressed rootimg during `packimg`

Hello Winfried,
We do not have SLES15 xcat-dep repository now. SLES15 renamed as SLE15 based on its official release notes. Now, we support using SLES12.3 xCAT management node to provision SLE15 diskful compute node.
Could you share more information about How to use xCAT on SLES and your
You may want to check in your exlist file (in /install/custom/netboot/...

We manage a cluster running Centos 7.2, using xCAT 2.10. Recently,
the customer asked us to deploy a diskless node with Centos 7.5 for
testing.
We discovered a problem with this - packimage was not including
/usr/include or about 3/4 of the directories in /usr/share in the
resulting rootimg.gz.
Hello,
There is no repository for SLES15 in
http://xcat.org/files/xcat/repos/yum/xcat-dep/
Did I miss something? Or doesn't SLES15 need a xcat-dep repository? Or
is it just too early?
Many thanks!
Winfried
