Hi Yuan, We are an ISP (Deutsche Telekom) and have been using xCat for many years. One of our vendors (IBM) recommended it once to provision nodes to run their software. We are very pleased with it! Now, we support using SLES12.3 xCAT management node to provision SLE15 diskful compute node.

You may want to check in your exlist file (in /install/custom/netboot/... This file specifies a list of files and directories that are removed when building the image, to keep the image size small. ___ Kevin Keane | Systems

We manage a cluster running Centos 7.2, using xCAT 2.10. Recently, the customer asked us to deploy a diskless node with Centos 7.5 for testing. We discovered a problem with this - packimage was not including /usr/include or about 3/4 of the directories in /usr/share in the resulting rootimg.gz.
