Re: [xcat-user] xcat-dep repository for SLES15
Hi Yuan, We are an ISP (Deutsche Telekom) and have been using xCat for many years. One of our vendors (IBM) recommended it once to provision nodes to run their software. We are very pleased with it! Now, we support using SLES12.3 xCAT management node to provision SLE15 diskful compute node. I see. In the past we always tried to have a unified setup on the management nodes and the compute nodes. With the same OS level. But of course we could also stay on 12.3 for management node and provision SLE15 on the compute nodes if that is supported. Thank you for this information! Do you know if there is a release plan for SLE15 and when it will be available? Btw, I read on xcat.org that the project also provides "support contracts". Do you know more about that? [xcat-user] /usr/include not in diskless rootimg.gz
We manage a cluster running Centos 7.2, using xCAT 2.10. Recently, the customer asked us to deploy a diskless node with Centos 7.5 for testing. We discovered a problem with this - packimage was not including /usr/include or about 3/4 of the directories in /usr/share in the resulting rootimg.gz. Is this due to the combination of Centos 7.5 and xCAT 2.10? Or some obscure configuration issue we need to resolve?
