Hi again!
Although I've managed to remove the tearing artifacts in our dga program, the
rendering speed (fps) is slow. I'm planning to use page flipping in our code
but the program hangs when we run it. This is a part of our code that do the

Hi Marc,
Still the system is hanging even after moving the drivers from the directory mv /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/sun*_drv.o /temp.
On further debugging the code I identified that the system is hanging in function call xf86scanpci () within the while loop while (idx MAX_PCI_DEVICES tag

Dear list members,
Please help. I run Red hat 9, and it works fine for a while, like maybe eight
times. Then I get a server crash message about the failure to load a bitmap
and pcdata whatever that is. Then I am unable to load my KDE desktop, so I
have to re-install Red Hat. Thank you in
I've succeed getting my second monitor working on a Radeon 9200 with ATI
proprietary drivers. You can use fglrxconfig utility to configure it.

Greetings!
I just upgraded to 4.4.0, but I continue to have a problem, yet
now that I am running the latest and greatest perhaps I might
have a chance at figuring this out.
Intermittently (perhaps once per day) the X-server hangs. The
pointer moves with the mouse, but I can't click on anything,

This is up to the drivers. Currently, the only drivers
which support simultaneous 8 and 24 plane rendering are ones
that support HW overlays. These include drivers for some
Matrox cards, some 3Dlabs cards (I think), and NVIDIA's binary
Linux drivers support them for some of their Quadro line
You have an incomplete or corrupted XFree86 installation.
I have heard of this many times and only on Red Hat 9. The
only conclusion I can come to is that sometimes Red Hat 9
deletes essential XFree86 modules for some unknown reason.
I don't know of anyone doing a thorough investigation to
This looks like a graphics card driver bug.

I have upgraded to XFree86 4.4.0 and I've upgraded my
nvidia driver to the latest release, but my X-server still
intermittently hangs in what seems to be a busy loop. As
it has been pointed out to me that this might be a driver bug,
