Well, arguably you should use XFree86, because it's open source. fglrx is
ATI's closed source driver. It didn't work

I know nothing about 9000. Still I think that probably my second item is
correct.

2. If I'm not mistaken the BusID PCI:1:0:1 warning means that you don't
have a second monitor attached to your card.
