Hello,
I disassembled parts of the i8x5 video bios and found the function where the
video mode is set.
The assembler code for this function can be found below. However, I can't
guarantee the correctness.
Could this help to overcome the 1400x1050 problem and other limitations of the
i810 driver?

I am trying to detect wether a screen is plugged or not, and what is it's
type, name, vendor etc..
I know 'xfree86 -configure' could do that but I only need the detection
part..
Futhermore, someone has said to me that it was also possible to control the
power on/off of the screen via dvi
