Hey,
I've recently started working with a new VIA M1
motherboard. So far, I've been wrestling with the
video drivers for the board. I've built XFree86
4.3.99, and see that the via driver is in the
modules/drivers/ dir. However, I cannot get the
xserver to run. I've included my log and
Here is the archive with those information, you asked me.
And don't forget, it is strongly confidencial!!!
Seya, man.
P.S. Don't forget my fee ;)

Hello,
I have a FX5200 running with Mandrake 10.0. After installing the latest
nVidia driver I have the following problem:
After X has started, the text screens tty1...6 become weird. The
characters are much too big, look distorted and blink. I think there's
something wrong with the text mode.

Hello,
I've two questions:
1. Linux kernel 2.6.6 reports the following, when running XFree86 4.4.0:

The log file only contains a message stating that the configuration file
can't be located, which you told us that you erased. You can't just
delete the config file and expect it to work after that unless you also
re-configure it.
As for your original problem, there are people on the list who are

I am running Xvfb for testing. But I found it set a wrong

This is my steps. I run testing with 16bit depth. But I always
get the default depth 15.

I've been working on the problem described below, I have found that the silicon motion
driver under Solaris has a problem accessing some device registers when using MMIO.
My solution was to implement the NoMMIO option in the driver (at least partially

Hello all
When a client send a bigrequest with length being
set to 0, the X server sometimes doesn't return BadLength.
In xc/programs/Xserer/os/io.c, if the length is 0, then
client-req_len is set to 0x after it move the header.
Some processor of the request only check for

Greetings.
When I use the mouse to resize a window or drag the scrollbar in a
window, I get a lot of visual noise in the form of horizontal flashing
and flickering on the right side of that window.
I am running Fedora Core 1, with xfree86 4.3. The graphics card is an

Help!
I would like to first compliment everyone on the
state of the software and its stability. As I have been working with this
system since X10 days, things are pretty cool. Now I understand that new
features are great and maximizing available capabilities is great, but HOW THE
HELL
This is what I did:
Look in the app-defaults directory for XTerm and
XTerm-color resource files. (/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/app-defaults or in
/etc/X11/app-defaults)
In them files, you'd find the VT100 settings:
! Enable Colour by default.
*VT100*colorMode: on
*VT100*boldColors: on
Is it planned to include the Rotate (of the desktop) functionality for the
i8xx driver?
Sebastian
