ok,  here's what I did.  it wouldn't let me "save link target as" to the actual place where they go, so i did it to another directory that I created.  Then i went to root and to the directory where the files were, and did: mv mga_drv.o /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers  and then mv XFree86 /usr/X11R6/bin    When it asked if I wanted to overwrite the others, i said yes.

then I rebooted and got nothing but error messages regarding X.  It tried to reconfigure, but couldn't.  After several tries, i was able to mv the old ones back in place and typed in startx.  But then it was like it didn't recognize my icons.  So, I restarted agian, and now everything works fine - with ONE monitor.

thanks for your help.  ....what should i do now???
