hi, I tried to create a bootable cd, it worked and booted to the prompt. Now i added all the files from /etc/X11 and /usr/X11R6 and created a new image and created a new cd and it booted, now when i type startx it gives the error Fatal server error: xf86OpenConsole: cannot open virtual

Hi From past 2 days, i am facing this problem.. Whenever i boot my computer, i get the following error failed to start the display server several times in a short time period; disabling display :0 I even installed the entire Red Hat package once again but still the same problem is occuring..

Hi! Is there a known bug with the nvidia's binary driver, kernel 2.6 and xfree 4.3.0? When i use it i experience some hang-ups. But if i use the xfree driver it works like a charm. Is it a problem with the grphics board or a software problem? ___

hello everybody i am unable to start xserver. i have redahat 9.0 installed in my pc. i tried the commands xconfigurator and redhat-config-xfree86 but the system does not recognise these commands. startx at command line also doesnt help. please suggest the solution. thank u vrinda
