I have used it only when trying out all the features. Have not used it
otherwise, and will not miss it...

My $0.02...I've never used it, nor felt the need. OTOh, if it actually
worked, maybe some people would use it.

The "detach sidebar" capability is poor, has apparently never been good,
functional, or valuable, and yet has outstanding bug reports.

Given the lack of serious use of this feature, I am considering simply
removing the ability, rather than to spend time on a feature which has,
to the extent I have seen, virtually no users in practice. Based on
conversations with others, it is at least as useful simply to open
detached windows of whatever modules are wanted (which works fine), as
to detach the sidebar from the main window.

Can anyone make a good case for this being actually valuable?
